Maggie Kenny

Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)

You deserve a space where you feel truly heard, valued, and empowered to explore what matters most to you. In our work together, we’ll focus on issues where you may feel stuck or unfulfilled in life. I specialize in working through ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, attachment concerns, self-esteem, and grief. We’ll explore the underlying patterns that impact your well-being and how they manifest in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, paving the way for lasting transformation.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (BCACC) (#21698) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and extensive experience across both public and private healthcare settings. I am also a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) (#11243612).

My approach to therapy is integrative and grounded in evidence-based methods, adapting to each client’s unique needs and circumstances. With warmth, compassion, and respect, I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your inner world and uncover insights that lead to growth.

In our sessions, I use several therapeutic approaches to support your journey:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Together, we’ll identify and restructure unhelpful thought patterns, giving you tools to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT): I’ll guide you in safely exploring emotions to foster deeper self-acceptance and healthier connections with others.

  • Attachment-Based Therapy: We’ll explore how early relationships shape your current dynamics, helping to foster growth and healing.

  • Somatic Practices and Nervous System-Based Techniques: These approaches help regulate your body’s responses, building resilience and inner calm.

  • Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP): This method helps us access core emotions in a safe, nurturing environment to promote healing.

Clients of mine often experience:

  • Clarity on the roots of their anxiety

  • Tools to manage their ADHD and day-to-day lives with improved functioning and overall wellbeing

  • Progress in moving past feelings of hopelessness

  • Understanding how past experiences shape their relationships and self-esteem

  • Healthier emotional expression

  • Greater self-compassion and self-awareness

  • Improved relationships through better communication and emotional connection

  • Insight into attachment patterns and how they impact relationships

  • Healing from painful experiences, including grief and loss

  • Recognizing and addressing unhelpful patterns like people-pleasing and codependency
